So where are all the negative posters now?
Do we still have the worst owners in the world. Is the Manager out of his depth? Are we far worse off squad wise than last season? Is the OS going to be a disaster (it isn't & I was there today)? Are our new signings, except Payet, all crap?

The truth is that we will win some & lose some this season.. There is no need to knee jerk one way or another, after every bloody game!

I have replied and it's clear for all to see. You've resurrected the 'our club is a joke' thread because you clearly agree with it. Wins over Liverpool and Arsenal prove we're not. Simples. Or are you too thick to understand that?

As I've asked you on the other thread which I assume you're ignoring copy and paste the posts of mine which cause you to have this made up viewpoint please?

In fact find some of my posts after the Leicester and Bournemouth games too and see if they're full of panic.

Re: So where are all the negative posters now?
Thick is taking a point of view at odd with reality. 4 games in, 2 wins against top opposition but to you our problems are so overwhelming that we'll be struggling against relegation all season. Your posts say 'panic' in every word. After the past 3 years this is an over reaction.

Johnsons holding up his end on the 'Our club is a joke' thread. Clearly Arsenal and Liverpool aren't laughing though.

I am quite sanguine about our prospects this year.

There I used sanguine in context

Re: So where are all the negative posters now?
Look if we lose consecutive home games, especially by conceding first half two goal leads, fans are bound to be disappointed. Equally laying a fifty year old hoodoo to rest elites us. What is annoying though is jumping to hugely negative or positive extrapolations of our season based on these results.

We are clearly not ready to challenge, seriously, for CL places because we beat Liverpool and because we experienced those home defeats we are not doomed for relegation.

If we get the 2-3 players in, we'll qualify for the Champions League.

If we don't, we'll have to settle for the Europa.

That's where we're at.

Love the word "sanguine" and your use of it.

I get your point but all is not what it seems. I certainly spend a large amount watching West Ham but nowhere as much as I would if I lived in the UK.

I am as concerned as most with the requirement to bring in 2 or 3 players in this window and the possible implications if we don't do that. Not sure whether the two are related but I accept your view.

Some of the hysterical bollocks some people post on match threads if we're not winning after 20 minutes is childish and ridiculous.

Fucking idiots.

Re: So where are all the negative posters now?
It should be all about opinions.

If some want to come on here and voice their displeasure (or pleasure) at certain things then that should be OK with all. We don't have to agree with them.

What is wrong is when some think that others should not give those opinions and they resort to these stupid name calling "Knee Jerker" or Knicker Wetter" terms instead of giving a decent alternative opinion of their own.

Anyway I'm off to replenish my wine cellar.

Re: So where are all the negative posters now?
Banjo, from what I can see the main negativity has been around the owners and their lack of investment. Perhaps it is easier for someone who doesn't spend thousands a year watching us to be sanguine about how little money is spent on the team.

Keep Dreaming, that's not what I'm saying of course EVERYONE was unhappy at losing. But out of that, that's where the Bilic Out and relegation threads come from (from a few). I'm saying that had we not lost those games there wouldn't have been those threads. Obvious I know.

Re: So where are all the negative posters now?
I doubt many thought we would be relegated after Bournmouth and I doubt any will think we will win the league after Liverpool. Don't forget that with those two home defeats, despite what may have been perceived as a blip at Arsenal, we have displayed relegation form all year. Peoples perceptions and levels of confidence will take differing amounts of time to evolve. Neither Knee jerk nor knicker wetters fits the bill here.

I don't necessarily agree with your post although it can seem as if the whining increases with a loss or two.

We seem to have, just like other clubs, a percentage of supporters who are never happy and their numbers increase when we lose. Last week was a whinge fest with the pessimistic posters decrying everything from the owners, the manager, almost every player to Doris the tea lady.

Now this is not new behavior and maybe the advent of the internet has given a different outlet for the pessimists to share their unconstructive views. The squeaky wheel does in fact get the oil, and as in life, those that are most vociferous are the complainers, but it doesn't make them right.

Good debate is healthy but a negative attitude, about everything is definitely not constructive, however, I don't think any of these words will have any effect of those that see our great club through the lens of pessimism.

EVERYONE was unhappy at having lost both home matches.

DONT confuse that with being an abusive, negative and doom glooming prick

Re: So where are all the negative posters now?
The way I see it, people were understandably unhappy at having lost both home games against Leicester and Bournemouth (both seen as games we should have won because we are West Ham and they are only Leicester and Bournemouth) and the stagnation in the transfer window was also causing some frustration too.

But if you look at our points total after 4 games we are where we're 'supposedly' should be.

At the start of the season many would have predicted that we'd have 6 points from the first 4 games-

Arsenal away = 0pts
Leicester home = 3pts
Bournemouth home = 3pts
Liverpool away = 0pts

We've still got to the 6pts, we've just done it the other way around by losing the games we were supposed to win and winning the games we were supposed to lose.

Happy days. Just need to sort out our home form.

Bilic in his interview talked about how different it is playing at home when the opposition defend in numbers and get men behind the ball and that we don't have enough attacking players with the ability to break through.

IF we can get a couple of players in of that ilk, happy days.

Re: So where are all the negative posters now?
1964, I disagree, some fans been going right over the top about Bilic and the team.
Proper knicker wetting that given we're now 7th on 6 points with two amazing wins.
